What Size Generator Do You Need?
Getting this wrong is expensive in both directions. Too small and the set trips every time a motor starts. Too large and you burn fuel you do not need, and a diesel engine run below 30 percent load for months develops wet stacking — unburnt fuel in the exhaust that eventually needs a workshop visit. Aim to load the set to between 50 and 80 percent.
The five-step calculation
- List every piece of equipment that will run at the same time, with its wattage.
- Add them up. This is your running load in watts.
- Add about 30 percent on top for the surge when motors and compressors start.
- Divide the result by 1,000 to get kW, then by 0.8 to convert to KVA.
- Pick the next size up in our fleet, so you land at 50 to 80 percent loading.

Diesel or petrol?
Petrol is lighter, cheaper to hire and instant to start, which suits short jobs and crews that move every day. We hire petrol at 5, 6.5 and 8 KVA. Diesel burns roughly half the fuel per hour, tolerates continuous running and is available right up to 250 KVA. The rule of thumb: under two weeks and under 8 KVA, petrol is fine; anything longer or larger should be diesel.
Why Hire Your Generator From Us
Own fleet, own transport
Every set in this list is ours, kept in our Al Lisaili yard and delivered on our own HIAB trucks. Nothing is sub-hired, so nothing slips because a third party let us down.
Serviced and load-tested before every hire
Sets are serviced, load-banked and inspected before they leave. You get a machine that has already proven it holds its rating, not one that is about to.
Free sizing before you commit
Send us the equipment list. We will tell you the right size, even when that means renting you something smaller and cheaper than you asked for.
24/7 breakdown response with swap-out
If a set faults on site we attend around the clock, and where it cannot be fixed quickly we replace the unit rather than leaving you waiting on parts.
Fuel, cables, boards and attendants
Scheduled refuelling, earth rods, cables, distribution boards, changeover panels and generator attendants are all available so you can hire one thing, not five.
Whole-UAE coverage
Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain — including farms, desert plots, free zones and remote infrastructure corridors.

Generator Rental FAQs
What size generator do I need for my site in Dubai?
Add up the running wattage of everything that will be on at the same time, then add roughly 30 percent for the surge when motors start, and divide by 0.8 to convert kilowatts to KVA. As a rough guide: hand tools and lighting need 5 to 8 KVA, a villa or small office 10 to 15 KVA, a villa construction site 20 to 30 KVA, a medium site or event 40 to 60 KVA, a high-rise with tower crane 100 KVA, and a whole development 150 to 250 KVA. Send us your equipment list and we will size it for free.
How much does generator rental cost in Dubai?
Price depends on the size, how long you need it, where it is going and whether you want fuel, an operator or a distribution board included. Monthly hire is by far the cheapest per day, and daily hire the most expensive. We quote a fixed price in writing with no hidden mobilisation charges, so tell us your dates and location and we will send exact figures.
Should I rent a diesel or a petrol generator?
Petrol sets are lighter, cheaper to hire and start instantly, which suits short jobs and crews that move daily — we hire them at 5, 6.5 and 8 KVA. Diesel sets use roughly half the fuel per hour, run far longer between services and are available in every size up to 250 KVA. Anything running more than about two weeks, or above 8 KVA, should be diesel.
What does a silent generator actually mean?
It means the set is built inside an acoustic canopy lined with sound-absorbing material. Our silent diesel sets run between 58 and 73 dB(A) at 7 metres depending on size, against about 68 to 72 dB(A) for an open-frame petrol unit that is a fraction of the power. For hotels, hospitals, residential towers and night works, silent is usually a permit condition rather than a preference.
How quickly can you deliver a generator?
Same day across Dubai for most sizes if you book before midday, and next day for the rest of the UAE. We run our own transport with HIAB crane trucks, so we are not waiting on a third party. Emergency and out-of-hours deliveries can be arranged.
Do you supply fuel, cables and a distribution board?
Yes. Every set is delivered with a full tank as standard, and we offer scheduled refuelling for continuous running. Earth rods, cables, distribution boards, changeover panels and generator attendants are all available as add-ons.
Can I rent a generator for one day only?
Yes. We hire by the day, the week, the month and for the length of a project. Short one-day hires for weddings, film shoots and emergency outages are routine.
Do you serve areas outside Dubai?
Yes — Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, including industrial zones, free zones, farms, desert plots and remote infrastructure corridors.
