The Dubai Metro Route 2020 expansion was one of those projects where everything had to work on time, every day. Husnain Abdul Rasheed Machinery Rentals was part of the equipment supply chain for station construction work along the new route, and it taught us a lot about what large-scale infrastructure really demands from a rental provider.
Project Overview
The expansion ran about 15 kilometers of new track to connect the Expo 2020 site to the existing metro network. Multiple stations went up simultaneously, and each one needed reliable power, compaction, and support equipment on site from day one. We supplied over 50 machines across several station locations.
Equipment Deployed
Here's what we had running:
- 12 high-capacity generators keeping the lights and tools going around the clock
- 8 mobile generators supporting steel erection crews
- 15 concrete mixers and vibrators for foundation and structural work
- Jack hammers, cutting machines and power tools as needed
Challenges and Solutions
You can't block half a main road in Dubai and expect nobody to notice. Deliveries had to happen at night. Equipment breakdowns had to be resolved fast because there was no room to park a spare unit. We set up a dedicated dispatch team just for this project so any replacement could reach the site within hours, not days.
