Every shift starts with a walk-around. No exceptions. Check these before you fire anything up:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
This isn't optional. Hard hat, hi-vis vest, steel-toed boots — that's the minimum on any site in Dubai. Working near generators or compressors? Add ear protection. Cutting or grinding? Safety glasses and gloves. Most guys on site know this, but it's the new workers who need reminding.
A lot of near-misses come down to one person not knowing what another person is doing. Use hand signals everyone's been trained on — not made-up ones. If you've got radios, use them. And if visibility is poor or the site is noisy, have a dedicated spotter for reversing and lifting operations.
